The Kansas City Chiefs will look extremely different with Patrick Mahomes slinging the ball. His greatest asset? The will to win football games.

OTA’s are among us. The 2018 season has started. patrick Mahomes is the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s definitely time to get excited if you are a Chiefs fan. Mahomes mania has spread throughout the league as his time has arrived.

In a recent interview with the media, he spoke on what he had done in the offseason and where he is at mentally. The end result leaves us wanting more. This kid has said all the right things, and so far the little we have seen of him has not disappointed.

More from KC Kingdom

He has run an offseason program with running backs, receivers and tight ends each time they were available in Kansas City. Andy Reid said he’s watched all the game film from last year three times already. He’s doing this the right way. Going above and beyond to make sure his Kansas City Chiefs are as good as they’ve ever been, if not better.

He simply wants to win, and Brett Veach and Andy Reid seem to have put the weight of that challenge on his shoulders. Coach Reid mentioned that even he has a list of plays from Mahomes’ Red Raider days at Texas Tech. The Chiefs are fitting this team around him and what he is capable of doing.

As unbiased as I can be, I do not remember a team going as far as the Chiefs have in expressing the wow factor that comes with Mahomes. Each player you speak to have this look on their faces as if they’ve seen Jesus himself. Words used to describe him are full of adjectives such as amazing, unbelievable, incredible, superb, crazy, etc.

How can you not get pumped up about your quarterback when the coaches and teammates have those things to say about you. The attitude surrounding the Chiefs right now is that this team is going to do some special, special things.

There is no telling how the Chiefs defense will be this year, and in all fairness, the roster on that side of the ball should look a bit different come time to play. There is no debate with this kid.

Patrick Mahomes can do things nobody else can do. That isn’t my opinion, that is the league’s opinion. Look back at Jon Gruden’s quarterback camp, and listen to the things that he says about Mahomes.

No debate, Mahomes has skills that no other quarterback has ever shown. 80 plus yards in the air, 60 plus yards from his knees. He throws footballs like a shortstop with accuracy. He shows off. The confidence can be called cockiness from some, and that’s fine. He isn’t scared to win, isn’t scared to try.

Patrick Mahomes will be a future NFL MVP. You can hold me to that if you would like. He’s the real deal, smooth as silk and ready to play. The Kansas City Chiefs did well with this one. Get ready for excitement. Even in a loss, the games are going to be exciting.
