With Malik Newman now gone, all eyes turn to Kansas Basketball and their quest to sign stand-out guard Romeo Langford, who has the Jayhawks on his short list.

Kansas Basketball is always busy during the off-season. This off-season, they have their eyes on one guy in particular. Romeo Langford. With the mass amount of guards on their way out of Lawrence, the addition of Langford would help mend the wounds.

Kansas has already had commits from big time recruits in Devon Dotson, Quentin Grimes, and David McCormack, the first two being guards themselves. Playing time could be a factor with those above mentioned recruits along with Lagerald Vick and Charlie Moore, but a look at the video below may make that an easier decision.

Romeo Langford may not be the most talented of the freshmen class. He may not be the most hyped either. See Zion Williamson of Duke. Romeo Langford may just be the most valuable prospect coming out of high school however.

A weapon all over the court

Langford comes equipped with all sorts of fun weapons to use on the court. He has a cross-over that may be the best in all of basketball. All of basketball. His ball-handling skills are top-notch, he drives the lane with authority. He has really good ups for a guard, and he can stroke it from deep. Langford is a utility man on the basketball court. He is capable of doing whatever is asked of him.

For months and months I have studied this kid and I have yet to find anything negative about his game. Romeo is extremely smart, he cares about his education, he’s in all advanced classes, loves math. A mathematician on the court is always dangerous. Take note kids.

During his process of cutting his potential list to three, he looked at how practices were run, how head coaches and assistant coaches worked and talked with the bench. One by one he started scratching off high-caliber coaches off his list.

That list consists of Kansas, Indiana (his home school), and Vanderbilt. He never took an official visit to Kansas, but has made visits to the other two schools.

The reason for the second video in this piece is to not only introduce you to the other recruits Kansas is bringing in, but they also give an insight into the recruiting process. At the end, they mention how they’ve been in the ear of Romeo.

Langford is a pure example of what they Jayhawk culture is. Signing Day ends soon, so the decision will be coming this month. If Langford signs, Kansas should be near unbeatable next season. Emphasis on the word near, haters.
