The 2018 season could have been an NCAA Tournament year for the Cornhuskers, but a weak schedule and losing in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament was the Huskers’ undoing.

More from KC Kingdom

Nebraska basketball has yet to win a game in March Madness and that’s frustrating for the fans. Sure, Nebraska isn’t necessarily a basketball school, but they’ve had some really fun seasons and when the fans are behind them, this team can make some noise in the regular season.

With the football team struggling the last few seasons, it was nice to have the basketball team step it up this year and make a run towards the postseason. They’ll be participating in the NIT this year (as a five-seed…), but it’s not quite the same.

Nebraska will graduate four seniors after the season wraps up, but most of the big names will be back in Lincoln for the 2018-2019 campaign. Hopefully the Huskers can schedule some tougher non-conference games and boost their resumé a bit so that this time next year, we’re not left wondering what could have been.
