The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Tennessee Titans in the Wild Card Round this weekend. How does Madden think this game will go?

Well, friends, we made it to the playoffs for the third straight season! While a lot of Kansas City Chiefs fans are definitely nervous for this weekend’s game, Chiefs Kingdom should be proud of what this organization has accomplished under Andy Reid.

With that said, however, there’s still a game to be played, and a big one at that. Fortunately, Madden was invented for this very reason so we could simulate games and be a little less anxious for what the weekend might entail.

Before diving into this week’s results, let’s take a look at how the regular season finale sim panned out. We all know that Patrick Mahomes mania was worth every second that we had to wait this season, but did Madden think he’d do that well?

Well, for one, Madden thought the Chiefs would lose to Denver, but that isn’t surprising. The Chiefs were putting mostly backups out there to face the Broncos so them being an underdog wasn’t all that shocking, even with how bad Denver has played this year. Obviously the Chiefs ended up winning, which was great. They’ve now posted three straight seasons with double digit wins.

Madden had high hopes for Mahomes though, predicting him to throw for 315 yards and two touchdowns. He threw for 284 yards and an interception, but some of the throws he made were just insane.

Now, let’s get to the results of this weekend’s Wild Card game at Arrowhead Stadium. What did ol’ Madden come up with for the first round of the playoffs?

FINAL SCORE – CHIEFS 27, TITANS 24

CHIEFS STATS

TITANS STATS

From the looks of this simulation, the Kansas City Chiefs will be in a hard fought battle with the Tennessee Titans on Saturday. Both quarterbacks played really well and it came down to the wire.

The Chiefs had a 17-10 lead at half time, but would surrender two touchdowns to the Titans in the third quarter, putting the bad guys ahead 24-17. Fortunately, Kansas City figured things out, putting up ten points in the fourth quarter and winning the game by a final score of 27-24.

Some might think this will be a Chiefs blowout win and others, like myself, are giving the Titans more credit simply because it’s a playoff game and Tennessee has nothing to lose. Those can be the scariest teams to play honestly, especially in the playoffs.

Hopefully this simulation is accurate and the KC Chiefs go out as winners and finally get that “home playoff” stat checked off. I’m still nervous though, as I’m sure most of Chiefs Kingdom is. We have the history to back up our pessimistic views after all.
