The Kansas basketball team will wrap up their exhibition portion of their schedule Tuesday night against the Fort Hays State Tigers.

The Kansas basketball squad should have another relatively easy outing in their final exhibition matchup on Tuesday against the Fort Hays State Tigers.

The Kansas Jayhawks had an easy time dispatching Pittsburg State last week, 100-54, and look for more of the same against Fort Hays State.

Bill Self will be looking for improvements in just about every aspect of the game. He is going to want to see execution and effort and probably won’t pay much attention to the score.

KANSAS BASKETBALL NOTES

Freshman Billy Preston left last week’s game with an injury but should be fine to play against Fort Hays State. Preston looked very good at times against PSU, including an incredibly athletic dunk, but also committed four fouls in eight minutes. The Jayhawks will need him to play big minutes going forward, so he needs to avoid dumb fouls.

LaGerald Vick was the most exciting player on the floor against the Gorillas. He had 15 points and 11 rebounds, taking advantage of a team much less talented. It will be interesting to see if Vick can continue that level of play as the competition improves.

He will be a big key to the success of the season, as he may be the one player who can just create some plays by attacking the rim.

The Jayhawks want to avoid injuries in these exhibition games. If the game is out of hand, look for Self to maybe pull some of his starters early. It will get scary if Udoka Azubuike goes down like he did last season.

Watch the Kansas basketball live stream if you can but don’t expect much more than you saw last week. The Jayhawks need to execute and stay healthy and will start their official Friday against Tennessee State.
