For Kansas City Royals SportsCrate subscribers, it’s been a rollercoaster with the crates so far. The fourth SportsCrate might have offered limited items, but what was sent to the consumer was the best value yet.

I’ve reviewed all of my Kansas City Royals themed crates from SportsCrate so far and for those of you reading my reviews, you’ll know that I’ve just been kind of “meh” on them. The August crate, which I only received a week late this time as opposed to nearly a month like the other three, has been my favorite crate yet.

Although the August crate only consisted of three items, two of the items are things that I will actually use! There was initially going to be a fourth item, but according to a card in the crate (and a previous email that subscribers had received), that item will be delayed.

Below is my tweet of the contents in my August SportsCrate.

As you can see from my tweet, this SportsCrate had a standard Royals baseball cap, a Tervis Royals cup, and an Alex Gordon baseball card. The delayed item is going to be an action figure, so if it goes along with the previous three crates, then I’ll be getting an Alex Gordon action figure in the coming weeks.

This crate is awesome for just the Royals hat alone. Sure, I have probably over a dozen Royals hats already, but hats are expensive! I only have just one basic Royals hat, as the rest are all from some sort of occasion (like the Home Run Derby, the Father’s Day attire, and the World Series hats).

I’ll use the Tervis cup as well. I was actually thinking earlier on in the day how I needed to get another one soon, and now I don’t have to!

While the previous three SportsCrates have been disappointing for the most part, this crate lived up to the hype. I’ll certainly put the Royals hat and Tervis cup to good use.

Last thing, this very well could end up being the final SportsCrate of the season. I’m unsure if they’ll have a September one or not, but with the MLB season nearing its end, I’m not going to expect another crate to appear at my door step.

While this crate was nice, it still won’t sway me to come back on as a subscriber for next year’s batch. It’s mostly been a disappointing subscription.
