The Kansas City Chiefs begin their 2017 season on Thursday night against the New England Patriots. What better way to predict the game than to simulate all of the fun?

Madden 18 was released not too long ago and of course, everyone likes to pick their favorite NFL team and simulate the season. What’s even more fun is to simulate each game of the season and look at all of the stats within the game.

That’s what we’ll be doing each week on KC Kingdom. Each week the game will be simulated with whoever the Kansas City Chiefs are playing. We’ll go through all of the stats and note anything worth discussing.

Not many are counting on the Chiefs to win this game and early on, it looked like New England was going to run away with it on a rainy night in Foxboro. Kansas City eventually came rolling back, taking a 27-26 lead in the middle of the fourth quarter.

Ultimately, the Patriots reigned supreme, just as everyone predicted. They won this simulation by a score of 38-27 and stayed atop the Super Bowl contenders conversation.

    PATRIOTS STATS

While the KC Chiefs lost this simulation, I think any Chiefs fan would be happy if these offensive stats panned out like this in the real game. Smith rarely throws for multiple touchdowns anymore or over 200 yards, so that’d be a great opener for the Chiefs quarterback.

Kareem Hunt and Travis Kelce both had nice games, with Hunt running right out of the gate to start the year. Albert Wilson and Tyreek Hill both got in on the action, but neither found the end zone.

As for the Patriots offense, yeah… They did just what Chiefs fans expected them to in this game. Tom Brady had a hell of a night and his run game helped him out tremendously, as Mike Gillislee went for over 100 yards.

    More from KC Kingdom

Rob Gronkowski found the end zone once while Chris Hogan had two scores on the evening. Brandin Cooks also had a nice Patriots debut.

As for the defense, Chiefs fans will likely be disappointed if Brady puts up those numbers against this defense, but it very well could shake out like this. The run defense doesn’t look to be fixed either, as they gave up over 100 yards on the ground to Gillislee. Yikes! At least Derrick Johnson appears to be back to good.

This is just a simulation, but it’d be great to see the Kansas City Chiefs offense put up these kinds of numbers. It would not, however, be great to see the Chiefs defense allow Brady to have this kind of night in Foxboro.

What do you think of this simulation, Chiefs fans? Is it realistic or do you see things going differently?
