2017 NFL Draft Kansas City Chiefs Scouting Report: Krishawn Hogan
By Ben Almquist
The Kansas City Chiefs receivers had a rough year in 2016. Krishawn Hogan of Marian University could provide a boost in the late rounds.
It will be difficult for the Kansas City Chiefs offense to get better without some improvement from the wide receiver corps. That is especially true of the depth players. Some new competition may be in order, and Krishawn Hogan of Marian University offers a lot to like there.
Personally, I am a fan of the idea of promoting Tyreek Hill into the #2 spot in the receiving corps. The young speedster showed a real knack for the position and developed a lot during his rookie season. However, the group behind him and Jeremy Maclin could use some help.
There is a lot of potential talent with Chris Conley, Albert Wilson, and Demarcus Robinson. However, that talent needs to step up before the Chiefs can rely on it. The best way to get talent to show up is through competition.

A middle round receiver could provide a boost to the competition for the Chiefs depth receivers. That will hopefully bring out the best of the group, and in turn, the offense as a whole. The Kansas City Chiefs offense needs to find a new wrinkle to throw at opponents.

It’s tough to find much on Krishawn Hogan because he comes from a small school. However, what is out there shows a player with a tremendous ceiling. Hogan dominated the competition at Marian University. How well that translates to the NFL remains to be seen, but he’s a guy I’m excited to see.
Krishawn Hogan is a big receiver who moves surprisingly well. Uses his long arms and strong hands to win contested balls. Has the athletic ability to make defenders miss after the catch. Plays with a finishing mentality, often called upon in direct snap situations. Lauded for his leadership and mental toughness.
The negatives on Krishawn Hogan are what you would expect from a small school prospect. There is very little tape to compare him to other prospects. Will need to work on polishing his technique and route running. Needs to be more aggressive in attacking the football.
There was some question about Krishawn Hogan’s speed, but he answered most concerns with a decent 40 time. The physical traits for Hogan make him a prime candidate for a team that feels confident in developing a receiver. The Chiefs have shown that confidence in the past, and may do so again.

The Kansas City Chiefs need to boost their wide receiver corps, especially in the depth chart. Getting a small school player could be the secret to that as many of them are overlooked. At the very least, the Chiefs will be creating competition on the roster. That is the key to getting better.
