KC Chiefs: Color Rush Uniforms Unveiled for 2016

The “Color Rush” is back for the 2016 season. Thursday Night Football starts this week. With it comes a burst of color and unique uniforms. All 32-teams are given a jersey for the Thursday games, some are better than others.

The KC Chiefs will wear all red vs. the Oakland Raiders on December 8.  The Raiders will wear all white for some unknown reason.

A team known for its fans known as “The Black Hole” will wear the exact opposite of black in the color of white. This is a little ridiculous to me but it should be interesting to watch on T.V. I guess. The Raiders could blend into the field if it snows in Kansas City that evening.

The Kansas City Chiefs on the other hand will be wearing an appropriate color at home on that December evening. Kansas Cities all red uniforms are always a hit with fans but a few fans wanted change.

I somewhat agree with Eric on this one. After further review, it would have been nice to see something new. Maybe a mostly black jersey with red numbers and yellow trim around the numbers.

Other new and much different helmet ideas have surfaced on the internet.

This helmet is awesome. The headdress sets it apart from any other Kansas Chiefs helmet. The one thing I would change on it is where the KC is now, I’d put the original arrowhead logo there and it’s great. I might add in a little more black as well but not a lot.

In April, a supposed leak of the color rush primary colors surfaced on Twitter.

The colors chosen in the tweet above were not correct for some teams, including the Chiefs. The post made it look like the Kansas City Chiefs would be wearing an all yellow uniform for the color rush game. This would have been a horrible idea, in my opinion.

My eyes could not take that much yellow on the field at the same time. It was bad enough for me to suffer though watching the Missouri vs. West Virginia game on September 3. West Virginia wore yellow jerseys and my eyes about fell out of my skull and I don’t even have a 4K television.

I can only image how horrifying the Chiefs uniforms would have looked like in yellow on television. The color yellow is tellin’ my vision “HELL NO!” and I’m ecstatic I don’t have to suffer though a game like that anytime soon.
