With most of the offensive line looking to be set in place, the Chiefs really only have one spot truly in question right now.

With Jeff Allen leaving the team for Houston, and both Ben Grubbs and Paul Fanaika getting the ax, the Chiefs have made it clear they are looking for new options to fill this spot.
a. Parker Ehinger – The rookie currently holds the spot, but he will have a big learning curve as he switches from offensive tackle.
b. Zach Fulton – Fulton seems destined for a role as the top interior backup. However, he did get worked into the mix which shows the Chiefs were at least interested in seeing him there.
c. Jah Reid – Reid is at home on the right side where he isn’t required to move as much. No sense in taking him out of his comfort zone now.
d. Outside Competition (watch out for) – I’ll continue to bang the drum for the Chiefs to trade for Ronald Leary from Dallas. Until Ehinger (or someone else) shows there is no reason to bring him on, I think the Chiefs should make the move.
e. Larry Tardif (not likely) – If Tardif doesn’t win the starting right guard spot, there is a fair chance he’ll be pursuing his medical career full time.

The Chiefs need players to step up and perform in all of these positions. Quality depth is such a key to success for all NFL teams. The Chiefs are a team on the verge of transition. Can they get another quality season out of Taba Hali, Derrick Johnson, Eric Berry, Jamaal Charles, and others?
Hopefully, players will emerge during camp and earn their spots with top notch play.
