The 2016 season looks to be a promising one for the Kansas City Chiefs. They have a lot of talented players, and even a few who could breakout in a big way this season.

It’ll be interesting to see what the Chiefs are able to do this season. They have young guys who are ready to win big and make it to the promise land (in this case being the Super Bowl).

In order for the Chiefs to take that next step, these five guys I’ve listed will need to have their best years yet. They’ll need to step up and be leaders for this team and keep proving that they’re some of the greatest Chiefs ever.

While some people might be irritated that I listed Alex Smith on the “cusp of greatness” with the Chiefs, it’s true. He’s given the team a reliable quarterback for three seasons now (heading into his fourth) and he’s gotten better each year. I really think Smith can be the guy to take this team to the Super Bowl, but his team has to help him and play their part.

Fortunately, Smith has guys like Travis Kelce and Jeremy Maclin along with Jamaal Charles to help him get the ball down the field. This foursome could be a scary unit in 2016.

Don’t forget the defensive studs though. Guys like Hali and Johnson have already shown they’re Chiefs legends, but are Eric Berry and Justin Houston there yet?
