Overall, this was a pretty good draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. They had some picks that I loved and some picks that left me confused, but I feel like they addressed some pretty big needs.

If I had to give this entire draft for the Chiefs a grade, I’d probably roll with a C+. They had some great picks like Chris Jones and Kevin Hogan, but the two wide receiver picks were less than stellar selections.

The Tyreek Hill pick is one of the worst selections in recent years, and it could be a pick that turns the fans against the organization. Not one of John Dorsey’s better picks.

The Demarcus Robinson pick was also a little puzzling due to his multiple suspensions he had during his stint at Florida. He was the team’s leading receiving for two seasons, but the Chiefs need someone who can control themselves and not be getting into trouble on and off the field.

Seeing the Chiefs draft a quarterback was a great thing too, as Alex Smith won’t be in Kansas City forever. Kevin Hogan could be the future guy that the team leans on and he’ll have several years to learn the system and what it will take to succeed under center in Kansas City.
