KU basketball hopes to hear decision today from five star shooting guard and number one uncommitted recruit Josh Jackson.

On Monday, KU Basketball will find out whether it will receive much needed help on the perimeter from a highly touted prospect following the departure of Wayne Selden Jr. for the NBA.

Number one undecided recruit and 6’7 five star shooting guard for Prolific Prep Josh Jackson revealed to Jason Jordan of USA Today High School Sports when he wanted to announce his decision.

“I know where I’m going,” Jackson said. “I’m not doing TV or any streaming or anything like that. I’ll just tweet it, but it will definitely be Monday.”

According to Scott Phillips, Jackson has narrowed his choices down to three schools.

Jackson was Co-MVP of the 2016 McDonald’s All-American Game along with Frank Jackson after scoring 19 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

Scout.com’s scouting report had this to say about Jackson.

“His first step is lightning quick and will serve him well for his entire career,” it says.

“He blows past defenders and possesses top-shelf bounce and body control at the rim, resulting in acrobatic finishes and old fashioned and-ones.”

“Meanwhile, he’s also a devastating player in the open court who can take shots under control despite dribbling at full speed.”

“His jump shot is streaky but capable, and he should be able to become more consistent over time.”

It appears Jackson has an extremely high ceiling due to his superior athleticism and his ability to create his own shot.

Although his jump shot needs to improve, its tough to expect a high school player to be good at everything.

Jackson will definitely improve a KU basketball team that has not only seen Selden leave for the NBA, but also Cheick Diallo and Brannen Greene.

Bill Self hopes he was able to pull Jackson away from Hall of Fame coach Tom Izzo and two time Pac-12 Coach of the Year Sean Miller.

Luckily for KU basketball, the Jayhawks appear to be the favorites to land Jackson.

USA Today High School Sports asked five separate experts where Jackson would go, and each one predicted he would pick Kansas.

In addition, 247Sports’ Crystall Ball also has favorable predictions for Kansas basketball.

Although these predictions are promising, it will be tough to guarantee Jackson will pick Kansas.

Until then, we’ll just have to keep refreshing our Twitter search of ‘Josh Jackson decision’.
