Today’s KC Royals news focuses on Noah Syndergaard and his date with the Royals. Will this rematch against the game three villain turn into a Royal Rumble?

The KC Royals showed little hesitation when expressing how they felt about Noah Syndergaard‘s antics in the third game of the 2015 World Series. To put it mildly, they weren’t impressed or amused.

They’ll get a chance to take out their frustration against Syndergaard in only the second game of the 2016 season on April 5th. According to Adam Rubin at ESPN, Syndergaard is set to pitch the second game of the Royals’ first series of the year.

Jacob DeGrom is the team’s second starter in the rotation but his status for the opening series is in question due to the impending birth of his child. While the Royals likely welcomed the chance to feast on DeGrom’s fastballs again, getting the chance to stick it to Syndergaard will be all the better.

To make matters even better for the Royals, they’ll receive their world Series rings just prior to the start of this game. If anything can get their heads back into the game right after such a cool ceremony, it’s getting to square off against one of their villains.

The Royals came out on the losing side in that game three match-up but Syndergaard things are different this time.

The Royals are going to have a stadium full of fans that are ready to let Syndergaard hear that not everyone holds him in as high regard as he does. It’s just unfortunate he wont get to step in the batter’s box in this game.

Yes, the Royals most likely have some pent up frustration to let out against the young Mets’ hurler. If you’re not sure how they feel, try to read the lips of Mike Moustakas in this video:

Noah Syndergaard didn’t just throw at Alcides Escobar. He threw at his head. He claims there was no intent to hurt Escobar with that pitch, but anyone who’s ever dabbled in the unwritten rules of baseball know where it’s ‘okay’ to send a message. Near the head isn’t on the list.

So what do you think about the match-up Royals fans? Has it all been blown out of proportion? Are you ready to see the Royals meet him 60’6″ away on April 5th? Will you settle for him watching the ring ceremony from his dugout? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.
