The Kansas Jayhawks need to keep their momentum going on Big Monday against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Know where to catch the KU basketball live stream.

It was a very big week for the Kansas Jayhawks has they played and beat two top ten teams. A solid home victory with West Virginia, paired with a much-needed road win at Oklahoma, put the Jayhawks in a position to win their 12th consecutive Big 12 Conference title.

They cannot afford a let-up at home against the Cowboys, a team that demolished them by 19 points earlier in the season. The Jayhawks now possess the country’s longest home winning streak, which they would love to extend to 38 on Monday.

The Jayhawks are currently tied with West Virginia at 9-3 for first place in the Big 12. Kansas has home games against Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and Iowa State, and they still have road games at Baylor, Kansas State, and Texas.

There are not many lay-ups on that list.

It still doesn’t feel like the Jayhawks have compltely hit their stride yet, either. They seldom are hitting on all cylinders. Watch out when they do!

Juwan Evans shredded Kansas in their earlier meeting, to the tune of 22 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds. Frank Mason, Devonte’ Graham and company must find a way to contain Evans’ penetration.

( Note: Evans is injured and will not play against Kansas)

The Jayhawks are also looking for a level of consistency from their top players. In the win against Oklahoma on Saturday, Wayne Selden, Jr failed to score in the first half, and Perry Ellis didn’t tally a point in the second half.

Selden, in particular, has been struggling of late. Since dropping 33 on Kentucky on January 30, Selden has just 27 points in four games. He is ten of 32 from the field in those games (31 percent) and he is just three of 19 from behind the arc (16%).

Selden and Ellis need to get on track for the rest of the season. Landen Lucas and Devonte’ Graham have improved over the past few games (see Lucas’ 16 rebounds against West Virginia and Graham’s spectacular performance at Oklahoma), which should make this team stronger down the stretch.

Kansas is already among the favorites to reach the final four this season, but if the Jayhawks ever come together and start playing every game like they are capable of playing, they will be a very hard team to beat come March.

Playing a great all around game with the Phog faithfully firmly behind them Monday night may go a long way toward this team finding their comfort zone. They show brilliance in flashes. That ability to be dominating is there.
