Kansas City Chiefs Scouting Report: Joey Bosa
The 2015 NFL season is officially over, and with that, all attention shifts to the 2016 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs hold the 28th overall pick in this year’s draft.
This year’s draft proves to be a little different from year’s past because the KC Chiefs really don’t have a clear-cut need to address. They could decide to draft anything from an offensive lineman to a defensive end. It’s completely up in the air at this moment.
The best player on most big boards in the 2016 NFL Draft is none other than Ohio State defensive end, Joey Bosa.
While the Chiefs likely have no shot at landing Bosa, he provides a lot of upside for whatever team does decide to draft him.

He accounted for 148 tackles, 26 sacks, and five fumbles in three seasons at Ohio State and was a member of the 2014 National Champion Buckeye squad.
According to CBS Sports, Bosa has an explosive get-off, which helps for getting after the quarterback. He also has good hands and wrists for trying to push past offensive linemen.
Like I mentioned above, Bosa is considered one of the, if not THE, best players in the draft. There’s a very good chance that he could go number one overall to the Tennessee Titans.
There’s little to no chance that Bosa drops all the way down to the Chiefs at number 28, so if Kansas City wants this kid, they’ll have to either trade up to get him or hope that he absolutely tanks at the combine.
Some of the knocks against Bosa are that he’s not as quick as other defensive ends, and that he tends to misread plays, which then leads him to be too cautious for the rest of the game (these all according to Dane Brugler at CBS Sports).
Brugler compares Bosa to former Kansas City Chief Jared Allen saying that the two have similar strengths on the football field. If this is the case, whoever lands Bosa will be getting quite the stud on defense.
With players like Mike DeVito and Jaye Howard set to hit free agency, the KC Chiefs will need some help up front.
If there was a way for the team to get Bosa, fans would likely be very happy. Add a guy like Joey Bosa to this already terrifying defense, and man ol’ man…Things could get scary at Arrowhead Stadium in 2016.
We’ve seen that defenses win championships, so maybe John Dorsey would consider trading up to get Joey Bosa. You never know.
Keep an eye on free agency for the Kansas City Chiefs, as that will more than likely dictate what direction they go in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
