KC Royals News: Spring Training Is Right Around Corner
KC Royals news consists of mostly spring training notes, as pitchers and catchers report in just a few weeks.
Kansas City Royals fans are likely in shock with how fast this MLB offseason went, but that’s what comes along with being World Series champions the season prior.
In 2014, fans couldn’t wait to get back to Kauffman Stadium to hopefully witness the right ending this time around. Now that the storybook ending happened for the KC Royals, fans want to take as long as possible to soak it up.
Before the regular season begins in early April, spring training will take place, with pitchers and catchers reporting on February 19th. That’s only 15 days away, my friends!

Heading into spring training, there are some questions that the Kansas City Royals have regarding their roster. What will the rotation look like? What will right field look like? Who will be the new H-D-H? What will Joakim Soria‘s role be? What about Kris Medlen‘s? Or Chris Young‘s? Or Danny Duffy‘s?
More often than not, these questions are answered by the conclusion of spring training, but sometimes the decision turns out to be the wrong one. Fortunately last year, the Royals made the right decision by opting to keep Ryan Madson on the roster rather than Brian Flynn, who ended up getting injured early on.
Spring training gives manager Ned Yost a chance to see the whole team in action and to see who fits in what spot better. If Duffy pitches well in the rotation, he’ll be in the rotation. If he struggles, he’ll likely land in the bullpen, and so on.
Oh and another fun tidbit, those super cool Royals spring training hats will go on sale at the Kauffman Stadium store on Wednesday, February 3rd. Make sure to go and buy you one because those are pretty snazzy hats!
