Consider yourself a passionate fan? Read us or other sports sites with regularity and ever wonder if you should write about your favorite teams and schools?

Maybe you’re just stumbling across us for the first time, and you like what you see. We are looking to add to our staff here on the site, and this could be your chance to grab a stick and join the team.

The sports world is always jumping; there is never a lack of sports news in the Kansas City are. We are searching for writers to cover all of the teams and schools in the area. We want to add passionate people to write about the Chiefs, Royals,  and the other tradition-rich schools and teams we cover.

The baseball season is about to start, and we are looking for passionate fans to cover theRoyals as they defend their World Series title. NFL free agency and the 2016 NFL Draft will soon be upon us, and we need to cover every aspect of the Chiefs as the prepare for next season.

March Madness is almost here, and we need more content for each of our schools. The MLS season is just around the corner, and Sporting KC will have a great team, as usual. There is plenty of great articles that need to be written.

We do have an editor’s position open for that special writer who can meet the requirements.

Expectations

We like to let our staff write about the interesting aspects of the team in which they are most passionate. There’s room for those interested in covering the Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, or any of the three major universities in the Kansas City area.

KC Kingdom will provide a platform from which writers can get their voices heard. The site has a terrific audience that continues to get bigger each month.

It also provides an opportunity for writers to hone their craft. The best way to improve as a writer is to write! What could be better than t write about the Chiefs or the Royals, or whatever local team, or school is your favorite?

Writers are asked to contribute at least 1-2 posts per week. We’ll always welcome more frequent contributions than that, but we won’t require it.

We know that for most this is mostly a hobby and something you do for the love of it. That’s why we do it too, as most of us have families, full-time careers, and/or school to balance our lives as well (there’s room for things besides sports, right?).

This is an opportunity to join a staff of writers here who are just simply passionate about KC Chiefs, KC Royals, SKC, Jayhawks, Mizzou, and K-State and want to continue to reach the rest of this great fan base.

If you are applying to be a site editor, which is a paid position, you will need to be able to post daily, and you will work with the other editors to bring the best sports content to our audience.

KC Kingdom is part of the vast FanSided sports and entertainment network, which is part of the TIME Inc family. Writing for us can get your voice heard from the best of platforms. Articles might be featured on Bleacher Report and SI.com!

Applying is very easy. Head on over and complete an application. It’ll give you a chance to share some insight into your background (prior online writing experience is not necessary but always encouraged) and let us know why you’d be a fit on site, so give it your best.

We’ll be in touch from there.
