KC Chiefs news this morning fixates on the 2016 NFL Draft, which is approaching in late April, and on players making it to the Pro Bowl.

With the Kansas City Chiefs not being one of the two teams competing in the Super Bowl in two weeks, the most exciting event approaching for Chiefs fans is the NFL Draft.

The draft is exciting because it gives teams an opportunity to bring on young talent to their squads. Last year alone, the Chiefs started multiple rookies, including Marcus Peters, Mitch Morse, and Chris Conley. John Dorsey did a great job with drafting last year, and here’s to hoping he can continue that in 2016’s draft.

The draft will be interesting this year because the Chiefs could go in tons of different directions. Do they protect Alex Smith more by selecting an offensive lineman or do they try and beef up the defense some more? So many decisions looming with this team come draft weekend.

The other headliner is the Pro Bowl. Kansas City will send five players to the Pro Bowl this season, but had six total make it to the game. Justin Houston was replaced due to injury, but the five participating are Eric Berry, Tamba Hali, Derrick Johnson, Travis Kelce, and Marcus Peters. Johnson was an alternate and made it due to Luke Kuechly making it to the Super Bowl.

While the Pro Bowl has become sort of a joke to NFL fans, it’s still cool that so many Chiefs players were voted in. This shows that the team is trending in the right direction, and that fans nation wide are beginning to see that.

Personally, the NFL Draft is one of my favorite parts about football. It brings college football and the NFL together, and it’s exciting getting to watch superstars in college translate into the pros.
