KC Chiefs news this morning focuses on the Chiefs’ first round pick Marcus Peters, and also on this upcoming weekend’s date with the Houston Texans.

When Marcus Peters was selected 18th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, people were a little confused. This team had Sean Smith and second year man Phillip Gaines (whom they just selected in the third round the year prior), and now were taking ANOTHER cornerback?

Now, however, no one is complaining about the Marcus Peters selection. The kid has been an incredible corner in his first year in the league, and very well could win Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Sure, he’s a bit of a hot head and lets his emotions get the best of him sometimes, but Peters truly is a rare kind of talent, especially for a rookie in the NFL. He’s proven time and time again this season that he’s one of the, if not THE, rookies to emerge from this year’s draft.

With eight interceptions (two for touchdowns) under his belt, Peters has shown that he can ball hard in this league and for this team. Let’s hope that his skills come through for the Chiefs on Saturday.

Speaking of this Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs are heading to Houston to face the Texans in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. It’s common knowledge around Kansas City that the Chiefs have not won a playoff game since 1994, back when Montana was the quarterback for the team.

It’s a sad streak, and one that all fans are hoping finally ends on Saturday. Fingers crossed.
