5.) Tired bullpen
There’s a reason this one is fifth on the list, and that’s because Kansas City’s bullpen is very good. The only problem is that due to the rotation’s struggles this past month, the bullpen has become very tired, and that’s not good when the team is hoping to make it far into October.

Another concerning area is the fact that Greg Holland will not be with the team as they make their push for the World Series. I get that Holland had a rough year as the Royals’ closer, but now without him, the Royals won’t have the dominant H-D-H trio from last season.
Ryan Madson is now jumping into the seventh inning role, Kelvin Herrera to the eighth, and Wade Davis is the new closer. I’m worried that this being a new thing could mess with the bullpen too much and affect them come October.
I also don’t know how much I trust Luke Hochevar and Franklin Morales in high-pressure situations, which we all know the playoffs are full of.
Last season, Royals fans knew that once the game got to the seventh inning and Kansas City had a lead, it was all said and done. This year’s bullpen doesn’t inspire that kind of confidence, for fans or opposing lineups.
