KC Chiefs: Fans Have A Right To Be Skeptical [Leigh Oleszczak – KC Kingdom]

"That being said, Chiefs fans are completely justified not to buy the hype of what the 2015 season has in store for us. Why, you ask? Well, if history is any indication, the Kansas City Chiefs tend to let down their fans each and every year. After winning the AFC West in 2010, the 2011 Kansas City Chiefs came out of the gate by getting clobbered in their first two games. They were outscored 89-10. Yikes!"

Chiefs Beat Seahawks: 5 Things We Learned [Patrick Allen – Arrowhead Addict]

"There is no getting around it, Maclin is a huge upgrade over Dwayne Bowe. We didn’t get to see a ton of Maclin in the first preseason game, however tonight he was clearly a focus of what the Chiefs wanted to do on offense. Maclin was targeted five times and caught three passes for 22 yards and a rare WR touchdown. The former Eagles WR also had one carry for eight yards."

Seahawks’ Bobby Wagner Picks Off Alex Smith [Jack Jorgensen – FanSided]

"With the first half winding down, Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith was actually having himself a pretty nice night to this point. Heck, he even threw a touchdown to a wide receiver, something that didn’t happen at all last season. But, that good night quickly turned into a bad one."

Chase Solid, Maclin Catches TD Pass In Chiefs Win [Joel Thorman – Arrowhead Pride]

"Now, let’s remember one important fact here. Eric Fisher and Jeff Allen, the starting OTs, were both out. We knew this line would not look like the one that takes the field in Week 1 in Houston. We assumed with both OTs out that they wouldn’t be very good and we were right. The line wasn’t very good against Seattle."

Chase Daniel Again Outshines Alex Smith [Adam Teicher – ESPN]

"WR Jeremy Maclin: Playing the first half, Maclin had three catches for 22 yards and is still looking for his first long play with the Chiefs. But he did score a touchdown on a three-yard catch from Alex Smith."

Chiefs Defense Heavy On Playmakers, Light On Egos [BJ Kissel – KCChiefs.com]

"As veteran defensive lineman Mike DeVito gets prepared for the start of his ninth NFL season, he recently opened up about what it’s been like at training camp after missing all of last season with an Achilles injury.“It’s been great,” DeVito said. “Coming in, I have to admit I was a little bit nervous. I didn’t know what it was going to be like coming off the injury. OTAs felt great, workouts felt great, but until you put the pads on, you really never know what it’s going to be like."

Chiefs’ Johnson Returning To Arrowhead [Dave Skretta – Springfield News-Leader]

"Nearly a full year later, Johnson is preparing to step back into Arrowhead Stadium. He made his return to games in the Chiefs’ preseason opener at Arizona last weekend, but he acknowledged this week that playing at home Friday night against Seattle will feel a bit different."
