In other news, the Kansas City Chiefs still have some options in the free agency department. Justin Houston watch: Updating the contract situation [Arrowhead Addict]
"In all likelihood, Houston will skip most of training camp and come back for Week 1. However, Houston could hold out through the first 10 weeks of the season, forfeit his pay during that time, and then come back for the final six games and accrue another year toward free agency."
Kansas City Chiefs, Justin Houston will talk tomorrow [NFL Spin Zone]
"Based on the fact that Houston isn’t the highest-paid OLB in the game under the franchise tag, you can understand why he is so upset about being tagged and hasn’t signed his tender yet. That means he can hold out of training camp, and it makes tomorrow’s talks all the more important [if they weren’t already] for both sides."
Kansas City Chiefs: 4 players to play right guard [Arrowhead Addict]
"I see 4 possible starters at right guard for Kansas City in 2015. Some are more accomplished, some are rookies, some aren’t even on the roster yet. So, who are the 4 possible starters at right guard, and who will win the battle to start come week 1?"
KC Chiefs: Alex Smith Considered Below Average Quarterback [KC Kingdom]
"Smith takes a lot of heat from fans mainly due to his inability to throw down the field. Since coming to Kansas City in 2013, Smith has been known to predominantly dump the ball off on short passes. That can certainly be frustrating at times, but Smith is better than a lot of guys out there in the NFL right now."

Should Chiefs Sign NFL Free Agents Wes Welker, Reggie Wayne? [Latin Post]
"What makes this such a good fit for the Chiefs is low cost and Alex Smith. At this point in his career, Welker’s stock has never been lower. If the Chiefs did sign Welker, they could simply cut him before the regular season begins without much of any salary cap hit whatsoever."
Chiefs offseason report: Jamaal Charles senses return to elite form [USA Today]
"That Charles is refreshed and motivated should be enough reason to give the Chiefs optimism that they can play their way back into the AFC playoff picture in 2015 after last year’s 9-7 finish. They made the playoffs in 2013, coach Andy Reid‘s first season in Kansas City, but they are looking for their first postseason win since 1993."
