This has been a very fun first half for the Kansas City Royals. From injuries to suspensions to ejections to benches clearing to whatever else, these Royals have overcome a lot early on and have come back stronger each and every time.

It was tough narrowing down the ten best games because there have been so many impressive outings from our boys in blue, but the ones I picked I feel like most fans will agree with me on.

That Tampa Bay series saw an astounding three games making this list, but all were well deserved. From a walk-off grand slam to Alex Gordon getting injured to the team proving they could come back and fight without him, it was hard to argue not putting those games on here.

One game that was tough for me to leave off was the shutout win over the St. Louis Cardinals in May. Kendrys Morales blasted two home runs in that game to give the Royals a 5-0 victory over their Missouri rivals, and I loved every minute of it.

Growing up in Kansas City made me grow to hate St. Louis so seeing us crush their hopes and dreams was great. I just couldn’t make a case for it over the other games.

The second “just missed the cut” game for me was the home game against the Texas Rangers, where Salvy hit a home run late in the game to prevent the Royals from getting swept. The Royals had been struggling at that point in the season and Salvy’s home run helped the boys in blue get back on track.

Obviously the second walk-off game of the year was big and could have been included, but I chose to leave it off the list since the first walk-off win was more dramatic and overall more exciting.

The last close call game was the game in Detroit with the rain delay where the Royals went on to win in ten innings on an Omar Infante sac fly. That one was mainly big because it continued to set the pace in the AL Central as to who the division leader is this season.

This has been a fun start to the season and let’s just hope the Kansas City Royals can maintain their lead in the American League Central and come home with a division title.
