The Kansas City Chiefs watched from the sidelines as organized team activities (OTAs) began around the NFL on Monday. Andy Reid & Co. won't be starting this year's OTAs until Tuesday, May 27, meaning Chiefs fans must wait another week before seeing how the team's plethora of offseason additions are fitting in with the team.

While OTAs are exciting because of the new faces debuting, it's also a stressful time for some returning veterans. Not everyone has a guaranteed roster spot like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, meaning a poor showing at the upcoming practices could mean bad news for a bubble player's fate.

That includes one Chiefs wide receiver, who has the most to lose next week.

Chiefs WR Skyy Moore Has the Most to Lose During OTAs

When it comes to this year's WR room, Skyy Moore is in danger of being kicked to the curb if he doesn't prove his worth throughout OTAs.

Drafted 54th overall in 2022, expectations were high for Moore after racking up career highs in receptions (95), receiving yards (1,292), and touchdowns (9) in his 2021 performance at Western Michigan. The hope was that, with the right coaching, Moore's presence would help lessen the blow caused by former wideout Tyreek Hill's departure during that same offseason.

It's safe to say that Moore struggled to show consistency throughout his first two NFL seasons. Playing 30 games during that stretch, the New Kensington, PA native only caught 43-of-71 targets (60.6%) for 494 receiving yards and one touchdown. His underwhelming start continued by failing to catch three targets in his first six games in 2024 before a core muscle injury ended his campaign after Week 7.

Although he's since recovered from his ailment, Moore's outlook in Kansas City is far from promising. Returning WRs Hollywood Brown, Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and JuJu Smith-Schuster are all ahead of him on the depth chart, and that's without mentioning the booming potential that rookie playmaker Jalen Royals brings to the table.

Throw in veteran names looking to prove their worth like Tyquan Thornton, Justyn Ross, and Nikko Remigio, and it's easy to see why Moore's uphill battle to crack the roster has never been steeper. The fact that the Chiefs can save over $1.5 million in cap space by trading or releasing him, per Spotrac, also doesn't help his outlook.

Looking like he once had WR1/2 upside, Moore's career certainly hasn't unfolded as he hoped. If he can't stand out and look like a legitimate NFL wideout throughout OTAs and into training camp, there's a decent chance he'll have to look to continue his career elsewhere.
