Travis Kelce has enjoyed a fruitful offseason after becoming one of the NFL's biggest global stars last year, though he's been snubbed from what felt like a slam-dunk.

EA Sports' Madden 25 cover athlete will not be Kelce. Instead, the cover was awarded to San Francisco 49ers' RB Christian McCaffrey, whom Kelce helped beat in the Super Bowl.

Kelce has plenty of off-field ventures to keep him busy, though this feels like a missed opportunity for EA Sports. Instead of honoring one of the league's biggest stars nearing retirement, the video game company chose to uplift McCaffrey.

Christian McCaffrey Awarded Madden 25 Cover Over Travis Kelce

It's not clear if Kelce even wanted the cover, but Chiefs Kingdom and Swifties worldwide would've loved to see the future Hall of Famer receive the honor.

McCaffrey is certainly deserving in his own right. The First-Team All-Pro won Offensive Player of the Year after accumulating a league-leading 2,023 yards from scrimmage with 21 total TDs. He likely would've won Super Bowl MVP if the Niners prevailed, though thankfully we'll never know for sure.

Kelce is a busy man and has a TV show on the way but it would've been neat to see him on the Madden cover regardless. Unfortunately, he'll have to settle for being the highest-paid TE in the NFL trying to win a third straight Super Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes has been on the cover twice already, so it makes sense for EA Sports to want to spread the love around. Fingers crossed Kelce uses this as motivation because we all know who truly deserved the recognition here.
