The Chiefs were dealt surprising news on Thursday when veteran DE Mike Danna missed practice with a quad injury. It's not yet clear if he'll participate in Sunday's contest against the Chargers, though his potential limitations give one player the perfect opportunity to shine.

2023 first-round pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah is coming off one of his best games as a pro, notching an impressive sack against the Falcons. He's had a slow start to his career and limited playing time but could be expected to step into a larger role.

Considering the way Danna has struggled to start the year, likely due to his injury limitations, Anudike-Uzomah has his best chance yet to become a pivotal part of the rotation.

Chiefs DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah Has Perfect Opportunity in Week 4

This is a monumental season for the former Kansas State star. Charles Omenihu's return feels imminent, yet the team has to make a decision about Anudike-Uzomah moving forward.

Is he someone who deserves a contract extension, or is he another failed first-round pick? Week 4 will go a long way in answering that question, and a strong performance would bode well for the future.

Danna has only three pressures despite receiving a healthy snap count. Anudike-Uzomah hasn't eclipsed 25% of the snaps in any game this year, but fans should expect to see him on the field for somewhere closer to 40% in Week 4. If Danna doesn't play, Anudike-Uzomah will step into that role. Danna played 72% of the snaps in Week 3, so Anudike-Uzomah should see close to that number should Danna miss the contest.

It's a big moment for the young player and one of the most important storylines to watch against the Chargers.
