Rashee Rice's attorney, Royce West of Texas, released a new statement on Wednesday regarding the civil lawsuits filed against the Chiefs' WR following the six-vehicle crash in Dallas on March 30th.

Both Rice and SMU player Theodore Knox, who was driving Rice's Corvette at the time of the crash, are listed as defendants in the civil lawsuit. They have both turned themselves in to Dallas police and are reportedly cooperating with the investigation, though we're still early in the process.

The NFL has not made an official comment on the investigation, though Chiefs' Head Coach Andy Reid told local media on Monday that Rice would still participate in "Phase One" of the organization's offseason program.

It's important to remember that the civil lawsuits are separate from the eight criminal charges that Rice faces from the Dallas police department. He may be found liable in the civil suits without having any bearing on the criminal case.

There is a lot yet to be decided and revealed regarding this matter. We'll continue to update you on the developing story as more information is released.
