We all know about the ill-fated offsides call on Kadarius Toney that ruined what would have been one of the greatest plays in Chiefs history.

New video shows that Toney made an attempt at checking with the officials, though even the most die-hard fan would admit it's not the most ardent attempt.

Given Andy Reid admitted Toney didn't properly check with the referees, this isn't a great look for the beleaguered receiver.

Toney does clearly stick his arm out to signal to the officials, but he isn't set and doesn't wait long to see a response. From this video, we cannot see if the referees actually indicated he was properly alligned.

Nonetheless, it's obvious from the very beginning that Toney lined up offsides. It's not even close.

We can be upset with the referees all we want, and rightly so following last week's debacle, though that doesn't excuse the fact that Toney is to blame in this situation. Sure, the referees could have warned him that he was off, but he didn't stick around long enough to check!

At the very least, it should have been obvious to a receiver that's been in the league a few seasons that he was offsides. In that kind of a critical moment, it's better to be safe than sorry.
