The Kansas Jayhawks football team got a piece of great news on Tuesday when star cornerback Cobee Bryant announced on social media that he'll return to the program instead of testing the NFL Draft or transferring.

He became the first Jayhawk since Aqib Talib in 2006-07 to earn consecutive First-Team All-Big 12 honors and should be a favorite to receive the nod for a third straight season.

With QB Jalon Daniels and RB Devin Neal both returning to lead the offense, Kansas should be one of the best teams in the conference with a real shot to challenge for the College Football Playoff.

KU Football News: CB Cobee Bryant Returning For 2024 Season

Bryant announced his return on social media, declaring "JAYHAWKS FOREVER" and following up by posting "COLLEGE PLAYOFFS !" on X.com.

The Jayhawks have the third-best odds (+650) to win the Big 12 behind only Kansas State and Utah with +590 odds to make the newly-expanded College Football Playoff for the first time in program history. Having Bryant back helps and may give Kansas the conference's best cornerback duo alongside Mello Dotson.

He's no stranger to spectacular highlight plays with nine career interceptions, 15 deflected passes and a pair of TDs. The Jayhawks would have had a big hole in the secondary if Bryant moved on, though now they boast a fearsome roster capable of beating teams both offensively and defensively.

It's shaping up to be a special season for Kansas, and luckily we don't have to wonder what the secondary would look like without its backend leader.
