Continuing a bizarre story in which Kadarius Toney seemingly accused Chiefs officials of faking his injury on Instagram live last week, Toney now claims the video was altered and actually a shot at the New York Giants.

He was back at practice last week and could play in the Super Bowl, lending some credence to his claim.

It's been a disappointing year for Toney by any measure, but given the impact he made in last year's win over the Eagles with a record-setting punt return, I certainly want him to be available for the contest. Here's what Toney had to say:

"I would never attack the Chiefs," clarified Toney, saying he was referring to Giants fans commenting on his social media.

He did, however, take responsibility for the comments and noted that he should not have made the initial video in the first place. Things ended poorly in New York for the former first-round pick, though he has an opportunity to change the narrative on his season should he have a productive day in the Super Bowl.

There's no denying Toney's talent. He's one of the most electrifying players in the NFL, breaking tackles seemingly every time he touches the ball. Injures and inconsistency have plagued his career though, so I'm hopeful he can still turn things around in a Chiefs uniform.

If he succeeds and makes some key plays in the Super Bowl again? I'm pretty sure all would be forgiven in Chiefs Kingdom.
