It's been a weird couple of weeks for Kadarius Toney, following a bizarre Instagram rant in which he claimed the Chiefs were faking his injury status only for Andy Reid to promptly deny that.
One of the biggest heroes of the Super Bowl LVII victory last year with his record-setting punt return to help seal the game, Toney has now returned to practice, giving some optimism he could play in this year's Super Bowl.
That being said, it certainly didn't look like the most engaged moment in practice captured on social media today.
WATCH: Kadarius Toney Returns to Chiefs Practice
The #Chiefs no longer list WR Kadarius Toney with an injury, only the "personal" designation. Will be interesting to see his official status in the Super Bowl injury report later Thursday afternoon. In our brief look, Toney was without a helmet catching passes in his own warmup… https://t.co/gRQL5GBPWe

There's no denying two facts: Toney has been disappointing by any measure this season and Toney is a game-changing talent with the ball in his hands.
The trouble, thus far, has been actually getting the ball in his hands. He caught just 27 passes for 169 yards this season, though we know he's dynamic when he touches the ball.
I'm still optimistic about Toney's future not only in the NFL, but specifically in Kansas City. I think he can be a versatile offensive weapon for years to come and participation could be a great step towards accomplishing that goal.
It remains to be seen if he'll suit up, though today's participation was a positive indication. Who knows, maybe today was just a preview for a Toney behind-the-back pass in the Super Bowl?
