A pair of important Chiefs went down with injuries on Wednesday during the fourth day of training camp on Wednesday, as WR Justin Watson and DB Nazeeh Johnson both left the field on carts.

However, there's a silver lining to both, as Watson went on the front of the cart while Johnson's departure was reportedly a precautionary measure.

Typically, players who use the front of a cart instead of the back are experiencing less severe ailments. If that's the case, Kansas City should be in good shape despite the two scary moments.

Chiefs Get Silver Lining on Two Training Camp Injuries

Given the report on Johnson, who is widely expected to step into a larger role following L'Jarius Sneed's departure, fans shouldn't be too concerned about his status.

The Watson ailment is interesting if it keeps him out of camp for an extended period of time. Someone like Nikko Remigio could step up, for example, or it could become more clear which wide receivers won't cut it on the 53-man roster.

That the veteran wideout wasn't on the back of the cart gives me optimism for his status overall, and his status on the roster feels set regardless. However, we'll get a closer look at other players jostling for positioning over these next few days as a result.

After Xavier Worthy and Justin Reid both dealt with concerning injuries and in Reid's case are still dealing with it, it's understandable if Chiefs fans thought the worst when both Watson and Johnson went down.

Fortunately, the Kingdom can breathe a collective sigh of relief. That being said, let's hope the next few practices don't bring more scary moments.
