7. Rasheen Ali - RB, Marshall (Pick 227)

Using the Chiefs' final pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, I'm taking a spark plug RB in Rasheen Ali out of Marshall. A long TD just waiting to happen, Ali could be a perfect complement to Isiah Pacheco with excellent burst and receiving ability.

Ali ran for 1,401 yards and a whopping 23 TDs at Marshall in 2021 before injuries limited him in 2022. He returned with a vengeance last year, averaging 5.4 yards per carry for 1,348 yards and 16 total TDs.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon both aren't under contract. With respect to Welsh rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit and his potential, it's obvious the Chiefs need to invest more at the running back position.

Ali is a strong pass-protector and his quickness could see him providing value at the McKinnon role. With Pacheco's bruising style, Ali could take advantage of exhausted defenses and it's easy to imagine him breaking off long TDs in this offense.

Kansas City already found one diamond in the rough with seventh-round RB - why not find another?
