Star Bengals WR Tee Higgins missed practice yet again on Thursday, raising serious questions about his ability to suit up for Sunday's epic clash against the Chiefs.

Higgins already wasn't expected to play, but it now feels like a near-certainty that he'll be on the sidelines. Ja'Marr Chase will be in action, though the Robin to his Batman probably won't be available battling the Boogeyman they call Patrick Mahomes.

Following the NFL's worst performance in a laughable Week 1 loss to the Patriots, thing looks grim for the Bengals to put it lightly.

Bengals WR Misses Thursday Practice Ahead of Chiefs Game

The former Clemson star has been a thorn in Kansas City's side during his career. Cincinnati's offense is dramatically different without him, as we saw in that pathetic loss to New England.

In true Bengals fashion, their players are more concerned with soundbites than on-field play, and it sounds like the Chiefs are ready to make them pay. A once-great rivalry now almost looks like a "big brother, little brother" situation, and Patrick Mahomes and the offense are entering this contest in search of blood.

Higgins has frequently dealt with injuries throughout his career, but there's no denying his importance. He's one of the more dynamic receivers in the league, and Joe Burrow should reasonably be expected to struggle without him.

Kansas City is a huge favorite for good reason. The Bengals should soon be 0-2 and in a fight for the playoffs, while the Chiefs have firm control of the AFC with a 2-0 record and easy schedule moving forward. Here's hoping Higgins gets healthy sooner than later, yet it's still a net positive for Chiefs Kingdom that he won't be on the field this Sunday.
