With the NFL's free agency boom dwindling, much of the league's focus is on this month's draft. The Kansas City Chiefs head into the 2024 NFL Draft with seven selections — including the No. 32 pick — leaving the fanbase to wonder which promising rookies general manager Brett Veach will add to the roster.

Having said that, the NFL Draft isn't only a big night for rookie players. The annual spectacle has been known to feature trades involving both draft picks and veteran players. After all, it was only the last draft when the Green Bay Packers traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets in a deal that involved six picks.

Kansas City won't pull off a Rodgers-level deal in Las Vegas this month, but that doesn't mean Veach & Co. won't make any moves. Here are three Chiefs who could be traded during the 2024 NFL Draft.

1. WR Kadarius Toney

It's safe to say that the Kadarius Toney experiment hasn't worked out in Kansas City.

Toney, who was acquired from the New York Giants in 2022, has been largely invisible during his time with the Chiefs. The former Gator has donned a Kansas City jersey 20 times over the last two seasons, registering a stat line of 41 receptions, 340 yards, and three touchdowns.

On one hand, Toney's struggles can be attributed to a never-ending injury history, highlighted by his missing 19 of 41 possible games since being drafted. On the other hand, he isn't exactly reliable when healthy. In 2023, the 25-year-old wide receiver tallied career worsts in both drops (5) and passer rating when targeted (66.7).

Considering how he's also been involved in his fair share of off-field issues, it's easy to see how Toney has likely worn out his welcome.

If the Chiefs want to surround Patrick Mahomes with the best ensemble possible, trading Toney is a no-brainer. He doesn't turn 26 until next January, so I'm sure that Kansas City could find at least one hopeful team that's willing to roll the dice on his potential.
