3 Chiefs Trade Targets Heading Into NFL Draft
3. Opportunity to Move Up in the 2024 NFL Draft
If the Chiefs are looking to make a trade ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, it doesn't have to be for a player. After all, there's always the possibility that Veach & Co. could find an opportunity to move up in the draft order.
I think that trading up at the NFL Draft must be something that the Chiefs consider. While they can certainly find an impact player at No. 32, they might have to go with the best player available rather than someone who directly addresses their needs.
I'm not saying that the Chiefs will do something unrealistic like trade into the top 10, but I wouldn't be surprised if they move into the early-to-mid 20s. Names like Washington offensive tackle Troy Fautanu, Clemson CB Nate Wiggins, and LSU WR Brian Thomas Jr. are all prospects that could fall in that range and could help the Chiefs as early as next season.
Chances are that game-changers on their level won't be available at the end of Round 1.
The Chiefs also have enough capital to pull off a move-up. They still have 13 picks across the next two NFL Drafts, which includes eight in the first four rounds. The cost will vary depending on how high the Chiefs want to ascend, but there's a way where there's a will.
