Week 1 of the NFL season is finally here as the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs host the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football. It's the most anticipated matchup of the week for good reason, though the Chiefs are 5-1 in the last six meetings between these teams.

Kansas City appears to have the better roster, but there are still some players who have to prove they deserve snaps as the organization tries to win a third consecutive title.

While some guys are poised for breakout seasons, others are doing their best to stay on the field. With that in mind, let's look at three Chiefs on thin ice entering Week 1.

3 Chiefs Already on Thin Ice Before Week 1

1. Skyy Moore - WR

This is a "make it or break it" season for the 2022 second-round pick. Skyy Moore hasn't made a big impact during his initial two years in the league and finds himself far back on the team's first official depth chart.

He's listed as the second kick returner alongside Mecole Hardman, so Moore's largest contributions at least initially should come on special teams. Despite his high draft pedigree, Moore was no roster lock and needs to show the front office that he belongs with the organization past this season.

Once Rashee Rice took over a major role in the offense, Moore saw his snaps steadily decline until he was ultimately placed on the injured reserve list. With the additions of Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy and former Chief JuJu Smith-Schuster, the team's decisions indicate they don't trust Moore.

During his first two NFL seasons, Moore has just 494 total receiving yards and one TD. Patrick Mahomes had a paltry 50.8 passer rating when targeting Moore last year, showing just how ineffective targets to him were.

The writing is seemingly on the wall for Moore's future in Kansas City. If he's not able to deliver on his promise in 2024, the Chiefs will likely be looking elsewhere after the year.
