It's been weeks since the Kansas City Chiefs' season came to an end, yet they haven't found a new offensive coordinator. Beyond that, there haven't even been reports about interviews with potential candidates.

Matt Nagy's contract is up, and even if it weren't, he's been under heavy fire for most of the time he's been with the team. Also, he's reportedly one of the leading candidates to get the Tennessee Titans' head coaching job.

With that in mind, Patrick Mahomes is already looking at the possibility of having someone else orchestrate the offense next season. And, as he told Rob Collins of FOX4 Kansas City, he wants some new ideas in town.

Patrick Mahomes Has One Demand For The Chiefs' New OC

"I just want someone that loves football, that cares about football, that wants to do everything they can to win, to hold people accountable and to bring new ideas every single day," Mahomes said, via Collins.

The three-time Super Bowl winner seemed to take a slight jab at head coach Andy Reid. He claimed that the team needed new ideas on offense, and he wants someone who can hold the players accountable as well:

In terms of accountability, it's hard to think of someone better for the job than Eric Bieniemy. The former offensive coordinator brought out the best in Mahomes and the offense, and he was known for his tough love approach. In fact, his treatment of players was reportedly one of the reasons why he didn't fare as well during his brief stay with the Washington Commanders.

Bieniemy is familiar with Reid's system, and given how much he likes to hire people who are already well-versed in his offense, we cannot rule out a reunion. That being said, it may not be what Mahomes actually wants or what's best for the offense.

For starters, it might finally be time for Reid to give up play-calling duties, regardless of who's in charge of the offense. The Chiefs' head coach will still have major input in play design and the final say on the game plan, but Kansas City needs to make some tweaks. It's not about taking anything away from one of the greatest -- if not the greatest -- offensive playcallers of all time, but something's got to change in KC Kingdom if the Chiefs want to return to their place at the top of the NFL mountain.
