The Kansas City Chiefs may or may not want to bring offensive coordinator Matt Nagy back. He's been one of the favorite scapegoats of fans for years now, and with his contract running up, the writing might be on the wall for his departure.

But even if that weren't the case, there are just too many good opportunities for him outside of Kansas City right now. Even if he doesn't like a head coaching job, he's likely going to land another job somewhere else. And, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers parting ways with offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard, a perfect opportunity for him may have opened up.

Matt Nagy Should Consider Joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Nagy is reportedly one of the candidates for the Tennessee Titans' head coaching gig, and will interview for the Baltimore Ravens' highly-coveted opening on Sunday. Other than that, there aren't reports of any other team looking to give him another shot at having his own team. Even so, he should be looking forward to leaving Kansas City, as he's never going to call plays for as long as Andy Reid is there.

In Tampa Bay, he'd had a prime opportunity to be the main guy in charge of the offense, and they have more than enough talent on that unit. Bucky Irving, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka, and Baker Mayfield make it an appealing destination for any offensive-minded coach.

Beyond that, Tampa Bay may not be patient with head coach Todd Bowles if it gets off to a slow start to the season. Bowles was reportedly on the hot seat, and even though the team held onto him despite the late-season debacle, he'll be under a lot of pressure to deliver from day one. If he's gone, he'd instantly be a prime candidate for a promotion.

Before Grizzard, the past two Buccaneers offensive coordinators both landed head coaching jobs, and they both did great with their next teams. Dave Canales has now led the Carolina Panthers back to the playoffs, and Liam Coen has the Jacksonville Jaguars looking like a legitimate threat.

That gives whoever is calling the shots for the Bucs' offense instant credibility around the league. Baker Mayfield has made guys look great at times, and with the way things ended for Matt Nagy in Chicago, there might not be a better way to prove that he deserves to have his own team than by putting together an explosive offense first. Whether he's a candidate for the job or not remains to be seen, but his agent should definitely get the Bucs on the phone right now.
