As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for Saturday's Division Round collision with the Houston Texans, a reunion with one of the franchise's former staff members just became available.

On Thursday, The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs reported that the Bears have fired director of football analytics Krithi Chandrakasan. The recently dismissed executive had previously been with the Chiefs since 2019 before leaving in 2022 when then-executive director of player personnel Ryan Poles left Kansas City to become Chicago's general manager.

It's hard to say just how big of a role Chandrakasan played for the Bears as his role was rarely put under the spotlight. Having said that, it's fair to say he didn't do that great of a job analystically given Chicago missed the NFL playoffs in each of his three years with the franchise.

Now that his time with the Bears is over, a Chiefs-Chandrakasan reunion could be in the cards this offseason.

Even though things didn't go well in Chicago, that might have to do more with the Bears organization as a whole. Returning to the Chiefs — with whom he won a Super Bowl — could light a fire under Chandrakasan, motivating him to revert to the version of himself that was highly sought after by the Bears in the first place.

It'll be worth keeping an eye on Chandrakasan in the coming weeks to see if he has a real shot at returning to Kansas City.

In the meantime, the Chiefs will head into the NFL Division Round as the 8.5-point home favorites over the Houston Texans, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
