Chiefs vs. Texans Halftime Show Announced for Divisional Round Matchup
The Kansas City Chiefs begin their playoff quest with hopes of winning a third consecutive Super Bowl this Saturday against the Houston Texans. Unlike last season, Kansas City will have the luxury of the AFC playoffs running through GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Although the Chiefs proved last season's home-field advantage isn't essential for them to make the Super Bowl, it's still nice to have.
Nonetheless, Saturday could mark the start of a historic playoff run for the Chiefs. If Kansas City does make it to the Super Bowl and win, they will be the first-ever team to have a three-peat. With that in mind, the Chiefs are continuing their tradition of providing a halftime show during the Divisional Round. According to Harold Kuntz, rapper Big Boi will be performing on Saturday.
Big Boi to Perform at Chiefs vs. Texans Halftime Show
Big Boi is an Atlanta-based rapper, widely known for being half of the southern hip-hop group OutKast with Andre 3000. Together, these two were massively successful, creating six albums and many hit songs. Their fifth album, titled Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, won three Grammys and contained a solo single named The Way You Move that peaked in the Billboard Top 100.
Outside of Outkast, Big Boi has had a great solo career, releasing three records. Each record saw lots of success. However, his first album performed the best, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200. Big Boi's performance on Saturday should include many recognizable hits that fans can rock out to.
Andy Reid has never lost a Divisional-Round matchup in his career with Kansas City, boasting a 6-0 record. Furthermore, Reid rarely loses after a bye week. Therefore, Chiefs fans should be confident in a victory over the Texans.
Chiefs fans attending the game on Saturday are likely to leave the game with a smile on their face after a great halftime performance and a victory.
