The sky is officially falling for the Raiders, who granted All-Pro WR Davante Adams' trade request and sent him to reunite with Aaron Rodgers and the Jets on Tuesday morning.

This trade has been in the works for weeks as Antonio Pierce's bizarre social media antics prompted Adams' initial request. It could be the start of a firesale for Las Vegas, which sits at 2-4 and just lost its best offensive player.

Maxx Crosby shoved a coach mid-game in Week 6 too. While he claims everything is fine, it's clear that the Raiders' season is over.

Raiders Trade WR Davante Adams to Jets

New York is sending a conditional third-round draft pick that can become a second-rounder based on performance. The Jets will also absorb the entirety of Adams' salary, theoretically giving the Raiders plenty of cap space to make improvements.

Nothing about Las Vegas' decisions over the last decade suggests they'll properly use that space though. The Raiders have officially waived the white flag, now moving forward with one of the league's worst offenses led by a coach embroiled in off-field issues.

It's an embarrassing situation for an embarrassing franchise. Adams is a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time First-Team All-Pro, widely recognized as one of the five best receivers in the NFL. He leads the league in TD catches since joining the Raiders, shining as the one bright spot on an otherwise terrible team.

The onus is now on Pierce to save the locker room, season, and perhaps his job as well. Meanwhile, Kansas City is undefeated and marching toward another AFC West crown.

In a bit of perfect timing, the Chiefs face the Raiders in Week 8 on October 27 then host them on November 29. Two easy games just got much easier and it'd be a surprise if Kansas City doesn't get revenge for last year's loss.
