Sunday's Super Bowl defeat is still fresh on the Kansas City Chiefs' minds despite happening nearly a week ago. As fantastic as it would've been to see Andy Reid & Co. pull off the NFL's first Super Bowl three-peat, there's nothing that can be done now as the offseason is set to kick into full gear in the coming weeks.
Unfortunately, falling to the Philadelphia Eagles isn't the only loss the Chiefs have suffered this week. As it turns out, one of the team's promising coaches is about to leave Kansas City for a hated AFC rival.
The #Ravens are hiring Donald D’Alesio as their defensive backs coach, per source.

D’Alesio spent the past four seasons with the #Chiefs and is still only 33. A bright young coach.
Chiefs News: Ravens Hire Donald D'Alesio as DBs Coach
On Thursday morning, NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that the Baltimore Ravens have hired former Kansas City Chiefs coach Donald D'Alesio as their new defensive backs coach.
D'Alesio is a former Youngstown State defensive back who eventually joined the program as the defensive line coach in 2016. He was promoted to defensive coordinator in 2019 before joining Louisiana State University as a defensive analyst just one season later.
In 2021, the Chiefs hired D'Alesio as a defensive assistant, playing a big role in safety Tyrann Mathieu's third Pro Bowl campaign. The Youngstown, OH native was promoted to safeties coach in 2021 and has since played a big role in helping Kansas City secure its last two Super Bowl titles, as well as this year's performance.
It isn't hard to see how important D'Alesio has been to the Chiefs' recent defensive success. Since he moved to Kansas City four seasons ago, the Chiefs have finished 8th, 2nd, 13th, and 5th in terms of coverage grades on Pro Football Focus, making it easy to see why the Ravens coveted D'Alesio this offseason.
Chiefs fans will have an opportunity to welcome D'Alesio back to Kansas City next season. The Ravens have already been confirmed as one of the Chiefs' 2025 home opponents, making it interesting to see how the former's DB room handles going up against the Patrick Mahomes-led offense.
Interestingly enough, D'Alesio's new and former teams are projected to have an equal shot at championship glory next season. With less than a month to go before free agency, the Chiefs and Ravens are currently tied for the second-best Super Bowl 60 odds (+650) on FanDuel Sportsbook.
