3 Chiefs Coaches Who Will Be Gone After the Super Bowl
As the NFL offseason continues for most of the league, it's business as usual for the Kansas City Chiefs. Andy Reid & Co. are back on football's biggest stage and are hard at work preparing for their upcoming Super Bowl 59 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, which goes down on Sunday, Feb. 9.
Reaching the Super Bowl is a big deal for any coach, however, this year's spectacle will likely mean more for some than others. After all, the upcoming championship showdown will likely be the last game some coaches spend with the Chiefs, whether it's because they're leaving for new opportunities or potentially retiring this offseason.
With that in mind, here are three coaches who could leave the Chiefs following Super Bowl 59.
1. Terry Bradden, Assistant Defensive Line Coach
While some of the names on this list could still return to Kansas City in 2025, it's guaranteed that assistant defensive line coach Terry Bradden won't be returning to Reid's staff.
It was announced in December that Bradden will be joining the Nebraska Cornhuskers as their DL coach for the 2025 NCAAF season and beyond. The former Tuskegee University graduate began his coaching career in the collegiate ranks from 2014 to 2016 before spending the last eight seasons with the Chiefs.
Even though he doesn't receive the attention that coordinators Matt Naggy and Steve Spagnuolo get, Bradden has played a crucial role in the Chiefs' success throughout the last few years. Defensive linemen like Chris Jones and George Karlaftis have thrived under his guidance, combining for 55 sacks across the last three seasons.
It'll be interesting to see just how big of a hit the Chiefs' defense takes once Bradden officially leaves the organization. We'll know whether or not he's irreplaceable depending on how his successor performs.
