KC Chiefs: 16 wide receivers that could replace Sammy Watkins
By Trey Donovan
KC Chiefs could replace Watkins with…
Byron Pringle
Yes, I am writing about Byron Pringle again, but if the Chiefs do not want a young receiver playing a lot or a free agent, then Pringle would make a lot of sense. In his career, Pringle has never really gotten a lot of chances to start, but when he plays he makes sure to leave a mark on any game he plays.

Pringle has made plays for the Chiefs when asked, whether it is a big game against the Colts or key catches in the Lions game or the Bills game. The man makes plays when needed and is a great return man, as showcased when he started getting reps in-game as a returner.
While he is also a free agent, he will be really cheap as he does not have a lot of reps and has been a career special teamer. The Chiefs should finally give Pringle the chance to start in the offense and if it works out then that is great.
Jody Fortson
If Kansas City wants a younger player than Pringle who is cheap, then look no further than last year’s training camp standout. Jody Fortson would be a true receiver that the Chiefs could develop into a stud, as Fortson was on the practice squad last year and got to develop. At 6’6, Fortson would already have an advantage over many corners in the league.
Fortson would definitely be able to compete in the league as he can win a lot of contested balls thrown his way, which he proved last year in training camp. He may struggle at first but it will take him some time to adjust to how the NFL plays.
These are all very realistic options the Kansas City Chiefs have to replace Sammy Watkins with. We could see any one of these players further elevate this offense, but the question is — Which one do the Chiefs add to their arsenal?
