How does Madden see the match-up between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills playing out?

The Kansas City Chiefs were supposed to face the Buffalo Bills this past Thursday, but thanks to Tennessee’s lack of following COVID-19 protocols, the Bills/Titans game was moved to this past Tuesday, so obviously forcing Buffalo to play two days later wouldn’t be fair. Instead, the game was moved to this Monday afternoon and here we are.

Both of these teams were undefeated through the first four weeks of the season, but were brought back down to Earth with embarrassing losses in Week 5. The Bills were absolutely demolished by the Titans while the Chiefs had their own game used against them when they faced the Raiders.

The Chiefs and Bills will both be looking to get back on track in Week 6 and Madden predicts a pretty high-scoring game. Before we get more into that, however, let’s take a look at how the video game did with its prediction for Chiefs/Raiders.

In that simulation, Madden thought the Chiefs would win by 10 points, but that the score would make it look closer than it really was. That kind of did happen, only it was the other way around. The Raiders won by eight points, but garbage time allowed the Chiefs to make it a closer game.

Let’s see what Madden thought would be in the cards this week when the Chiefs take on the Bills.

Final Score: Chiefs 33, Bills 41

CHIEFS

  • Patrick Mahomes – 29 of 41, 299 yards, TD, 2 INT; 7 carries, 25 yards, 3 TD
  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire – 20 carries, 73 yards; 3 rec, 28 yards
  • Demarcus Robinson – 8 rec, 84 yards
  • Mecole Hardman – 4 rec, 73 yards
  • Tyreek Hill – 9 rec, 58 yards, TD
  • Travis Kelce – 4 rec, 52 yards
  • Anthony Hitchens – 12 tackles
  • Chris Jones – Sack

BILLS

  • Josh Allen – 21 of 25, 236 yards, 3 TD; 6 carries, 21 yards, TD
  • Devin Singletary – 23 carries, 193 yards, TD; Rec, 4 yards, TD
  • Cole Beasley – 4 rec, 74 yards, TD
  • Dawson Knox – 3 rec, 19 yards, TD
  • Matt Milano – 12 tackles
  • Taron Johnson – INT
  • Jordan Poyer – INT

Remember how I mentioned that last week’s sim’s score looked closer than the game really was? The same could definitely be said for this week, as the Bills get off to a commanding 35-3 lead at half time. Somehow even that big of a lead isn’t safe from holding off the Chiefs for too long, as they come roaring back in the second half and get to within eight points in the final minutes.

Unfortunately, the comeback didn’t start soon enough and the Bills win this match-up and find themselves back in the win column. This would be a really deflating loss for the Chiefs, but the good news is that they do make a game of it in the second half, as they often did in the 2019 season.

If you’re a believer in these Madden sims and also have Singletary on your fantasy teams, get him in your starting lineup ASAP because it looks like he’s about to have himself a career day with 197 total yards and two touchdowns. Hopefully the Chiefs can contain him more than this.

Allen outplays Mahomes in this shootout, but at least it appears the other Chiefs receivers step up with Sammy Watkins out. Also, look at Mahomes taking over on the run game and barreling into the end zone on three separate occasions!

Hopefully Madden is wrong about this game and while the Kansas City Chiefs are the better team, this should be a competitive match-up between two teams looking to get back into the win column.
