What does Madden predict for the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 5 game against the Las Vegas Raiders?

The Kansas City Chiefs welcome in the Las Vegas Raiders for the first match-up between these two in 2020 and the first since the Raiders relocated to their new digs in Vegas. The Chiefs sit at 4-0 on the year while the Raiders are 2-2. In order to have any chance at catching the Chiefs in the AFC West, Vegas needs to win this game, but it won’t be easy.

Before we dive into Madden’s predictions for Week 5, let’s revisit how the video game did in simulating how Chiefs/Patriots would go. Madden thought this would be a Chiefs blowout and that the good guys would put up 38, but also thought the defense would allow 24 total points.

While the game did end up being a double digit blowout, it was a different tale than that of what Madden thought would happen. It was a 26-10 final and it was not the offensive explosion that the video game had in mind.

Now, with that out of the way, let’s look at the simulation for Chiefs/Raiders!

Final Score: Chiefs 27, Raiders 17

CHIEFS STATS

  • Patrick Mahomes – 19 of 26, 268 yards, 2 TD, INT
  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire – 23 carries, 73 yards, TD; 4 rec, 50 yards
  • Tyreek Hill – 5 rec, 105 yards, TD
  • Sammy Watkins – 3 rec, 47 yards, TD
  • Mecole Hardman – 3 rec, 44 yards
  • Juan Thornhill – 13 tackles
  • Frank Clark – Sack
  • Chris Jones – Sack
  • Willie Gay Jr – INT
  • Bashaud Breeland – INT

RAIDERS STATS

The Chiefs led the Raiders the entire time, taking a 17-3 lead into the locker room at half time and that forced Vegas to air the ball out more, as you can see from Carr’s numbers here. He has struggled at Arrowhead, so him putting up these kind of numbers would definitely make this his best game in Kansas City. This whole sim is pretty hilarious because Agholor going for over 150 yards against what’s been a pretty good Chiefs secondary just seems unrealistic. But, stranger things have happened.

The Raiders added two touchdowns in the second half to make a game of it late, but the Chiefs had already scored another touchdown and tacked on a field goal as well. They won it by 10 points and saw their rookie linebacker step up and get his first career interception. Oh also, welcome back, Breeland!

After picking against the Chiefs in Week 1, Madden learned its lesson and has continued to roll with the champions in its predictions. Will this sim resemble what the real thing looks like on Sunday? We’ll find out soon.
