The KC Chiefs lost to the Raiders and here were four performances that helped them secure that L.

The Kansas City Chiefs suffered a loss for the first time since last November and that means a lot of fans are going to be freaking out. While I get that it was a sloppy loss to a division rival, the sky isn’t falling and the Chiefs are still the best team in the AFC West and one of the best in the AFC. This is the same team that just two weeks ago demolished the Ravens on Monday Night Football.

Anyway, normally I do a weekly post highlighting the players who performed well, but since this was KC’s first loss of the season, I’ll be changing it to players who didn’t look so hot on the field. Let’s get to it, shall we?

4. Offensive Line

I’m not sure what to think of the Chiefs offensive line after five games this season. In Weeks 1 and 3, they were winning in the trenches and playing pretty sound football. In Weeks 2, 4, and 5, however, they’ve been not so great and the most worrisome part of all of this is that Mitchell Schwartz hasn’t looked like his All-Pro self.

Schwartz has been the saving grace along the offensive line since he got to Kansas City in 2016, so seeing him struggle is a weird sight for sure. Not only has Schwartz been struggling, but left guard Kelechi Osemele was injured and is likely going to miss some time. He had been faring decently in that left guard spot.

The offensive line played its worst game of the season in Week 5, allowing three sacks on Patrick Mahomes and allowing him to be hit five more times and pressured constantly. It really doesn’t seem like they’re on the same page five weeks in and considering Mahomes is a $500 million investment, keeping him protected and upright is priority No. 1 for the KC Chiefs. The offensive line  has to play better.
