Things are looking great for Kansas City for a long time to come. They aren’t just the king of the AFC West, but have positioned themselves as the king of the entire AFC. It’s not too hard to fathom that the Chiefs have a golden opportunity to become a dynasty, but there is one red flag that this team will have to address heading into 2020.
It’s not uncommon for the previous season’s Super Bowl winner to have a Super Bowl hangover the next season. In some cases, teams won’t even make the playoffs after winning it all.
The Chiefs could very well be primed for this to happen.
Everything on paper looks great, from a future Hall of Fame head coach to a lethal offense and a talented defense that’s on the rise.
At this point, it would be a real letdown if Kansas City doesn’t repeat, which is a very hard task to accomplish. It would be a catastrophic letdown if they ended up not making the playoffs.
Thankfully, the Chiefs have an experienced coaching staff that likely knows how to keep this team humble and hungry. If they can avoid the Super Bowl hangover, this team won’t really have a red flag at all.
